To transfer a license between computers, you will need to remove it from the old computer and activate it on the new one. To do so:

  1. Find your activation code:
    • If you bought the product in the Kaspersky online store, then your activation code will have been sent to the email you used when making the purchase.
    • If you bought the product on a CD, you will find your activation code in the Quick Start Guide.
    • If you bought a license activation or renewal card, see the code on the back of the card.

If you cannot find the activation code when your application is already activated, connect it to My Kaspersky and look up the code in the Licenses tab. See this article for instructions.

  2. Remove the Kaspersky product from the old computer. See this article for instructions.
If your old computer does not work, move on to the next step.
  3. Download the application you have been using from the Kaspersky website to a new computer.
If you do not remember which application you were using, but you have an activation code, use the instructions in  this article.
  4. Run the installation file and follow the instructions in these articles:
  5. Activate the application. See the guides in these articles:

If activation fails with the error “You have exceeded the maximum number of activations allowed for the entered activation code”, see the guide in this article.

What to do if you have difficulties installing the product

If you encounter an error while installing or activating a Kaspersky product, you can find information on fixing the issue in the General articles: Installation errors and General articles: Activation errors sections.

If the error persists, contact Kaspersky technical support by choosing the topic and filling out the form.
