This article concerns:

  • Kaspersky Security Center 13 (version 13.0.0.11247)
  • Kaspersky Security Center 12 (version 12.0.0.7734)
  • Kaspersky Security Center 11 (version 11.0.0.1131)

When creating a request to Kaspersky technical support, you may be asked to collect and attach trace files. Trace files contain records of all application’s actions, which allows to find the step at which an error occurs.

Make sure your user account has administrator permissions.

You can collect trace files in one of the following ways:

  • Using the klactgui.exe tool. See instructions for Kaspersky Security Center version 11 / 12 / 13.
  • Using REG files. See the guide below.

We recommend using the klactgui.exe tool.

How to collect trace files using REG files

  1. Download a compatible zip file from the table below.
  2. Extract the files on the computer on which the issue occurs.
  3. Run the *_ON.reg file to start logging.
  4. Reproduce the issue.
  5. Run the *_OFF.reg file to stop logging.
  6. Send the collected trace file to Kaspersky technical support.

Trace files will be located in the Administration Server installation folder:
%Program Files (x86)%\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Security Center.

The file is located in the Network Agent installation folder.
