- Added MBTS Search with the following functionality:
- Interactive Search box with a flyout window that returns indexed items from within MBTS and select areas of the OS in realtime
- Support for searching the following data points for a given indexed item:
- Name
- Vendor
- Path to File/Binary
- File Extension
- Tags
- CTRL + f keybaord shortcut to jump to the Search box
- Support for returning results from the following areas:
- Any item added via MyTools

- Updated MyTools Editor (Toolbox > MyTools > MyTools Editor) with the following changes and improvments:
- New UI/UX is used when adding and editing a MyTools item
- Added Execution Type option to control how the Tooslet executes the tool being added/edited. The following options are available:
- Normal – execute the item specified like a binary/executable file with administrator privileges.
- Console – execute the item specified via an argument passed to the Windows Console (aka Command Prompt or cmd.exe). This is ideal for launching batch files (e.g. .bat, .cmd, etc.)
Note: The following syntax is used: cmd.exe /k “%PATH_TO_BINARY%” “%ARGUMENTS%” - Powershell – execute the item specified via an argument passed to Windows Powershell with common arguments and administrator privileges. This is ideal for launching Powershell scripts (e.g. .ps1, etc.)
Note: The following syntax is used: c:\windows\system32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell.exe” -ExecutionPolicy -NoProfile -File “%PATH_TO_BINARY%” “%ARGUMENTS%” - MMC – execute the item specified as a Microsoft Management Console Snap-In
Note: The following syntax is used: c:\windows\system32\mmc.exe “%PATH_TO_BINARY%” - Added Architecture option to control when a tool will appear or execute based on OS architecture. The following options are avaialble:
- Any – Apepars and launches on both 64-Bit/x64 and 32-Bit/x86 versions of Windows
- 64-Bit Only – Only appears and launches on 64-Bit/x64 versions of Windows
- 32-Bit Only – Only appears and launches on 32-Bit/x86 versions of Windows
- Added Alternate Icon option to specify a custom icon. By default, the icon included in the Path to Binary item is used for a MyTools item.
- Added Search Tags option to allow one to customize how an item can be found using Search.
Note: This will also add extra weight for a MyTool to be a “Best Match”. Adding duplicate tags increases the Best Match score/weight even more. - Added Tile Preview o show you what the MyTool item will look like in the UI and to allow you to test the item by clicking on it.
- Updated Inform to detect Processor/CPU Socket information from SMBIOS.
Note: Click the Details link under the Processor/CPU tile of the Hardware area of System to view this value. - Updated Default Services Issue Scanner with the following new capabilities:
- Support for devices running Windows 10 v1903 May 2019 Update (Build 18362.x – 19H1)
- Improved detection and repair logic for Interactive Services
- Improved detection and repair logic for Service Start State values
- Improved detection and repair logic for Service Type values
- Improved messaging and reporting of detected issues and repairs for Services
- Updated Disk Drive Issue Scanner’s SMART Attributes capability with the following enhancements:
- Improved support and bug fixes for internal and external HDDs and SSDs
- Improved support and bug fixes for NVMe devices
- Improved support and bug fixes for USB bridge/passthrough devices
- Updated the OS Tools area of the Toolbox to include the following additional items:
- Control Panel (for Windows 8+ – Already existed on XP-7)
- Group Policy
- Programs and Features
- System Restore
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a bug that caused Inform to stop populating information if an external display is connected and set in Duplicate Mode.
- Fixed a bug that caused the Malwarebytes Issue Scanner to not perform the Incorrect Service Type Repair of the Default Services Issue Scanner.
- Fixed a bug that caused the Malwarebytes Issue Scanner to not display some repair details in the Details Pane of Scan Results, Scan Report, and Repair Report.
- Fixed a bug that caused the Malwarebytes Toolset UI to resize on high-DPI displays after opening a browse window in the Network Devices Scanner, MyTools, and Scan Settings.
- Fixed a bug that caused the Network Devices Scanner to crash with a .NET error when exiting on a high-DPI display.
- Fixed a bug that caused areas of the Toolset to not display the Notepad icon due to changes in Windows 10 v1903.
- Fixed a bug that caused the Malwarebytes Portable Scanner and MBTS Update to attempt to process invalid manifest files when HFS metadata files are present in certain Toolset directories.
- Fixed a bug that caused the MBTS Updater to hang and not populate if a HFS metada file is present in certain Toolset directories
- Fixed a bug that caused the Malwarebytes Portable Scanner to claim it scanned successfully but actually crashed due to loading improper definition files.
- Fixed a bug that caused the Malwarebytes Portable Scanner to hang while performing a scan due to being allowed to process unsupported scan options.
- Fixed a bug that caused the Scan for Rootkits option to be selected for unsupported scan types (e.g. Hyper and Specific).
- Fixed a bug that caused the MyTools Editor to auto-populate Properties for an existing MyTools entry and ignore saved values.
- Fixed a bug that caused the MyTools Editor to not properly add an architecture value.
- Fixed a bug that caused the Toolbox and MyTools to not respect the architecture value of a MyTools entry.
