Changes/Improvements

  • Added MBTS Settings Framework which provides the following new features:
    • Settings component with the following initial capabilities
      • Select the Toolset screen to load at launch (e.g. Inform, Scan, Toolbox, or Settings)
      • Help improve the Toolset by providing usage statistics: Always or Never
      • Manage your License Key and view License Details (e.g. License Key, License Type, and Expiration Date)
        Note: To change your license key, simply click the key and follow the prompts.
      • View version information, release notes, user guide, EULA, and privacy policy
    • Unified settings file (Malwarebytes\MBTS\Data\Configuration\mbts-settings.json) to allow future capabilities and easy transferring to other instances of MBTS.
      Note: Custom Scan settings for Malware Scan are automatically imported in to this new unified settings file.
      Note: mbts-settings.json file is human-readable to allow offline/manual editing and transferring to other MBTS instances.
  • Updated the following Issue Scanners to support Windows 10 Version 1803 (Build 17134.x – April 2018 Update – RS4)
    • Services Issue Scanner
    • Safe Mode Services Issue Scanner
    • File Associations Issue Scanner
    • Default Registry Values Issue Scanner (Critical OS Components)
    • Winsock Issue Scanner
  • Updated Inform to report if Windows 10 Version 1803 (17134.x) is not installed on a Windows 10 device
  • Updated Malwarebytes Breach Remediation (MBBR) to v2.7.2.1654 to resolve 7-Zip vulnerability CVE-2018-10115 in the following components:
    • Malwarebytes Breach Remediation GUI (Scan > Scan for Malware)
    • Malwarebytes Breach Remediation CLI (Malwarebytes\MBTS\MBBR.exe and Toolbox > Remediate)
  • Updated MBTS shared 7zip library to version 18.05 to resolve 7-Zip vulnerability CVE-2018-10115
  • Updated MBTS Update Framework to immediately download and perform an in-place update/upgrade of the Malwarebytes Toolset when Update Now is selected from the Update Notification Banner
  • Updated Process Termination message box to include improved messaging and an option to remember your choice (saved as part of Default Scan setting) on Windows Vista and higher

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug that caused Network Devices Scanner to detect a Ring Device as a Nest Thermostat/Camera with the wrong icon and name
  • Fixed a bug that caused unneeded device types to appear in the list drop-down when editing the Device Type in the Network Devices Scanner
