System Integrity Protection is a feature that protects the integrity of the operating system. It prevents malware from editing of system files and settings.

 

How to enable System Integrity Protection

  1. Restart macOS in the recovery mode: press and hold ⌘+R on the keyboard during the system startup.
  2. In the upper-left corner of the screen, click Utilities → Terminal.
  3. Enter the command:

csrutil enable

  1. Press Enter on the keyboard.
  2. Restart the device.

System Integrity Protection will be enabled.

 

How to disable System Integrity Protection

  1. Restart macOS in the recovery mode: press and hold ⌘+R on the keyboard during the system startup.
  2. In the upper-left corner of the screen, click Utilities → Terminal.
