After you create a request to Kaspersky support engineers about a problem with Kaspersky Web Traffic Security 6.x, they may ask you to send trace files. Trace files contain records of all application’s actions, which allows the engineers find the step at which an error occurs.

 

How to enable tracing

  1. Open the web interface of Kaspersky Web Traffic Security 6.x. See the Online Help page for instructions.
  2. Go to the Servers or Nodes section if you are using Kaspersky Web Traffic Security 6.1.
  3. Click The menu icon in the top right corner.
  4. Select Get traces.

  1. Select the servers for which trace files must be collected.
  2. Click Start.

  3. Click The menu icon in the top right corner.
  4. Click Change trace level.

  1. Choose one of the options:
    • Error level.
    • Debug level.
    • This trace level requires sufficient resources of data storage subsystem and affects the performance of the application. Use the debug level only if requested from Kaspersky support engineers.

Tracing information will be collected according to the selected trace level.

 

How to view the trace log and download the trace file

  1. Open the web interface of Kaspersky Web Traffic Security 6.x. See the Online Help page for instructions.
  2. Go to the Servers or Nodes section if you are using Kaspersky Web Traffic Security 6.1.
  3. Click The menu icon in the top right corner.
  4. Click View trace logs.

How to view the trace log in Kaspersky Web Traffic Security 6.0

  1. Click  The plus icon in the line that corresponds to the trace log, select the file and click:
    • Download if you are using Kaspersky Web Traffic Security 6.0.
    • Download trace log icon if you are using Kaspersky Web Traffic Security 6.1.

The trace file will be saved to the browser downloads folder on your computer.
