To fix this problem, uninstall and reinstall Norton.
STEP 1: Uninstall Norton
- Press the + to open the Run dialog box.
- Type in the following text, and then press .
appwiz.cpl
- In the list of currently installed programs, select Norton, and then click or .
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
- When the uninstall completes, restart the computer.
- After you restart the computer, check if you can connect to the Internet. If the problem persists, we recommend that you contact your service provider and report the problem.
STEP 2: Reinstall Norton
If you have received your Norton from Comcast, read Install Norton Security Online from Comcast. If you have received your Norton from a different service provider, then read Install Norton from your service provider.
- Sign in to your account.
- If you are not signed in to Norton already, you will be prompted to sign in. Type in your email address and password for Norton, and click .
If you do not have an account, click , and then complete the sign-up process.
- In the Get Started window, click .
If you want to install a new product which is not registered to your Norton account, click .
Type the product key and click . Follow the on-screen instructions to activate the product.
- Click .
- Do one of the following depending on your browser:
- For Windows: Press + key, to open the Downloads window in your browser, and double-click the file that you downloaded.
- For Mac: Press + + , to open the Downloads window in your browser, and double-click the file that you downloaded.
- If the User Account Control window appears, click .
Follow the on-screen instructions.
