Important Information
- If you have Norton Family installed, uninstall it before you download the Norton Remove and Reinstall tool.
- Downloading and running the Norton Remove and Reinstall tool removes the currently installed Norton Protection.
- After you restart, you will be prompted with on-screen instructions to reinstall your Norton Protection.
- Once your Norton Protection is reinstalled and you can open it, you can now reinstall Norton Family.

Fix problems opening Norton device security for Windows
To fix the problem, restart the computer.

STEP 1: Restart the computer
- Exit all programs.
- Restart the computer.
If the problem persists, go to Step 2.
STEP 2: Download and run the Norton Remove and Reinstall tool
If you have Norton Family installed, uninstall it before you run the Norton Remove and Reinstall tool.
- Download the Norton Remove and Reinstall tool.
- Press + key, to open the Downloads window in your browser.
- Double-click the icon.
- Read the license agreement and click .
- Click .
If you received your Norton product from your service provider, you may see the button instead.
- Click or .
- Click .
After the computer restarts, follow the on-screen instructions to reinstall Norton.
