To exclude items, such as IP addresses, files, folders, or registry keys, from scanning and real-time protection for your Managed Clients, add the items to the Management Console’s Ignore List. You can exclude items using one of the following methods.

  • Edit a Policy.
  • Add from Client module.
  • Add from Security logs.

Edit a Policy

  1. Log in to the Malwarebytes Management Console as an administrator.
  2. Click Policy.
  3. Click on a policy, then click Edit.
  4. Click one of the following tabs to add the exclusions:
    • For Anti-Malware, select Ignore List.
    • For Anti-Exploit, select Anti-Exploit Exclusion List.
    • For Anti-Ransomware, select Anti-Ransomware.
  5. Enter trusted filenames, directories, registry keys, IP addresses, or MD5 hash values as instructed on each tab to the text field you wish Malwarebytes to ignore.
  6. Click OK to save changes.

Add from Client module

When an item is excluded from the Client module, its added to the same policy the client is currently assigned to.

  1. Log in to the Malwarebytes Management Console as an administrator.
  2. Click Client.
  3. Click the client that detected the item you want to exclude > click Security Logs tab.
  4. Right-click the detected item, then select one of the following options to add the detection to the exclusions list:
    • For Anti-Malware, select Add to Anti-Malware Ignore List.
    • For Anti-Exploit, select Add to Anti-Exploit Exclusions List.
    • For Anti-Ransomware, select Add to Anti-Ransomware Exclusions List.

Add from Security logs

  1. Log in to the Malwarebytes Management Console as an administrator.
  2. Click Client > Threat View.
  3. Right-click the detection you wish to exclude.
  4. Click Exclude this Object to allow the item in a policy on the original machine that detected it or, click Exclude this object for All Clients to allow the item on all policies.
