Check for updates in Malwarebytes Privacy

To manually update to the latest version of Malwarebytes Privacy, follow the steps for your operating system.

Malwarebytes Privacy for Windows

1. Open Malwarebytes Privacy.
2. In the top-right part of the main page, click Settings .
3. Click Check for updates. If there is an available update, an Update now button displays instead.
4. In the setup wizard pop-up window, click Install.
5. After Malwarebytes Privacy finishes installing, the program closes. Relaunch Malwarebytes Privacy.
6. In the top-right part of the main page, click Settings .
7. The Product information section displays You have the latest version.

Malwarebytes Privacy for Mac

If you have the auto-updates feature disabled, follow these steps to update to the latest version of Malwarebytes Privacy for Mac.

1. Open Malwarebytes Privacy.
2. In the top-right part of the main page, click Settings .
3. Click Check for updates. If there is an available update, an Update now button displays instead.
4. For the update to continue, quit the app. In the menu bar at the top-left of your screen, click Malwarebytes Privacy > Quit Malwarebytes Privacy.
5. A browser launches with the MalwarebytesPrivacy-x.x.xx.xxx.dmg file. Double-click the file to install.
6. In the pop-up window, drag the Malwarebytes Privacy icon to the Applications folder.
7. In the same window, double-click the Applications folder.
8. In the Applications folder, double-click Malwarebytes Privacy.
9. Click Open to confirm you want to open an app downloaded from the Internet.
10. In the top-right part of the main page, click Settings .
11. The Product information section displays You have the latest version.
