NOTICE – On August 4 2021, Malwarebytes Endpoint Security reached its End of Life. For more information, see the Malwarebytes Endpoint Security End of Life notice. To upgrade to a supported version of Malwarebytes, see Malwarebytes Endpoint Protection or Malwarebytes for Teams.
The Malwarebytes Management Console can create an installation package to install managed clients on your endpoints. An installation package is a set of files used to install an application. We recommend creating an installation package if:
- Your organization uses other third-party installation software, like a Group Policy.
- You use a VPN, firewall, or other network configuration that prevents the Management Console from scanning your clients.
- You are experiencing issues using the Management Console to perform a client push install.
Configure and export installation package
- Open the Management Console, then log in.
- Click on Policy.
- Choose the policy you are applying to your endpoints, then click Installation Package.
- Use the Export Client Package window to create an installation package.
- (a) File Directory: choose where you want to save the installation package.
If you do not want to specify, choose Ungrouped Clients. - (b) Client Group: choose which endpoints you are creating the installation package for.
For help creating client groups, see the Malwarebytes Management Console Administrator Guide, Client module section. - (c) Use the checkboxes to customize your installation package. Recommended settings are checked by default.
- (d) Choose to create an EXE or MSI file.
To create a custom MSI installer package, uncheck the box next to Create single client setup file for client installation. Unchecking this box allows you to add or remove your own components.
- (a) File Directory: choose where you want to save the installation package.
- To save your installation package, click Export.
- To open the installation package folder, click Yes.
- To install your managed clients, right-click the ClientSetup file and Run as an administrator.
Once you’ve installed the ClientSetup file on your endpoints, you can monitor your endpoints from the Management Console’s Client module.
