Changes/Improvements

  • Updated the Protect section of the Toolbox with the following changes:
    • Added Malwarebytes for Chrome.
      This will launch a web browser to download the Malwarebytes for Chrome extension. More details: https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/218616-malwarebytes-for-chrome-beta/
    • Added Malwarebytes for Firefox.
      This will launch a web browser to download the Malwarebytes for Firefox extension. More details: https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/218646-malwarebytes-for-firefox-beta/
    • Added Malwarebytes for Windows (Legacy).
      This version of Malwarebytes is for Windows XP and Vista Only. It will only display on those operating systems.
      The installer is stored at Malwarebytes\MB3\Legacy\mb3-setup-legacywos-X.exe.
    • Added Malwarebytes Support Tool.
      This utility replaces MB-Clean and MB-Check.
      The utility is stored at Malwarebytes\Support Tool\mb-support-x.exe.
    • Renamed “Install Malwarebytes 3” to Malwarebytes for Windows.
      This version of Malwarebytes is for Windows 7 and higher only. It will only display on those operating systems.
      The installer is stored at Malwarebytes\MB3\mb3-setup-mbts-x.exe.
    • Removed JRT End of Life Information from the Remediate section of the Toolbox.
      JRT functionality is included with AdwCleaner.
    • Removed MB-Clean and MB-Check.
      These utilities are replaced by the Malwarebytes Support Tool.
  • Updated the Malwarebytes Toolset Updater to support acquiring and updating the Malwarebytes Support Tool and Malwarebytes for Windows (Legacy).
  • Updated Issue Scanner logic for the Default Start State of the OpenSSH Authentication Agent Service (ssh-agent) on Windows 10 v1803 due to Microsoft changing the default start state with the latest Cumulative Update.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug that caused CMD icons to display for Settings and Windows Store App Updates under Toolbox > OS Tools on Windows 8 and higher.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the Issue Scanner to improperly detect and repair the Default Start State of the OpenSSH Authentication Agent Service (ssh-agent) on Windows 10 v1803 after the latest Cumulative Update is installed.
