Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware is intended to stop the current types of ransomware which encrypt the files on a system. It was previously available as a stand-alone product, but since the release of Malwarebytes for Windows in December 2016, it is now included as a component in the Premium version of that program. At this time, Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware is available in a stand-alone perpetual beta version.
This product/program component is only available for Windows 7 and newer operating systems. It is not available on XP and Vista, as explained in Ransomware Protection unavailable on Windows XP or Vista.
