To activate your Malwarebytes subscription, you must have a license key purchased from the Malwarebytes website. Your license key is located in the order confirmation email that was sent to you when you purchased your Premium subscription. If you do not have a license key or cannot locate your order confirmation email, go to the Malwarebytes website to buy a Premium subscription or see how to find your Premium license key.
Activate your license key
If your license key has this format XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX, follow these steps:
- From your desktop, click the Malwarebytes icon
to open the application. - In the top right part of the window, click Activate license.
- Click Enter license key.
- Under License key, enter your key. The Activate license button becomes clickable when a valid license key is entered into the corresponding field.
- Click Activate.
Activate your license key with a license ID
This is a previous format used for license identification. If your license key has this format XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX and has a license ID with the format XXXXX or XXXXX-XXXXX, follow these steps:
- From your desktop, click the Malwarebytes icon to open the application.
- In the top right part of the window, click Activate license.
- Click Enter license key.
- Below the License Key entry, select My license came with a License ID.
- Enter your License ID and License Key.
- Click Activate.
Sign in with Malwarebytes My Account
Use your My Account email and password to activate your Malwarebytes subscription. To activate using this method, you need:
- An active Malwarebytes subscription with an available device.
- To have logged in to your My Account at least once. If you don’t have a My Account, see the article Create My Account profile.
Follow these steps to sign in and activate your subscription:
- From your desktop, click the Malwarebytes icon to open the application.
- In the top right part of the window, click Activate license.
- In the Email field, enter the email address used to setup your My Account.
- In the Password field, enter the password used to setup your My Account.
- Click Sign in. When your subscription activates, click Done.
When Malwarebytes Premium on Windows is activated, Premium displays in the top-left corner of the program Dashboard. Following the activation, Malwarebytes Premium on Windows turns on all Real-Time Protection layers.
