To install the Malwarebytes Endpoint Agent on Mac M1 chip devices, Rosetta is required. Rosetta enables Mac M1 chip devices to use apps built for a Mac with an Intel processor. For further information, see If you need to install Rosetta on your Mac.
Manual deployments
Manually install on Mac endpoint
- Log in to the Malwarebytes Nebula platform.
- Go to Downloads.
- In the Mac section, click Download to download the Mac Endpoint Installer to your local device.
- Do not rename this file as it contains your account token.
- After you have downloaded the installer, copy it to the endpoint and run the installer.
- If the Mac does not have Rosetta installed, a prompt appears to ask if you wish to install Rosetta. Click Install.
- When installation completes, the Endpoint Agent wp-signup.phps in the Malwarebytes Nebula console.
Manual install using Terminal
- Log in to the Malwarebytes Nebula platform.
- Go to Downloads.
- In the Mac section, click Download to download the Mac Endpoint Installer to your local device.
- Do not rename this file as it contains your account token.
- From the Mac endpoint, open Terminal.
- Install Rosetta using the following command:
- sudo softwareupdate –install-rosetta
- After Rosetta installs, install the Mac Endpoint Agent using the following command:
- sudo -E /usr/sbin/installer -pkg Setup.MBEndpointAgent__xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx___.pkg -target /
- When installation completes, the Endpoint Agent wp-signup.phps in the Malwarebytes Nebula console.
Mobile Device Management deployment
To remotely deploy the Malwarebytes Endpoint Agent to Mac M1 chip endpoints, first install Rosetta on all endpoints prior to deployment. Once Rosetta is installed, refer to: Remotely deploy Malwarebytes Endpoint Agent to Macs using UAMDM.
