Uninstall AVG, run removal tool and re-install AVG

Uninstall AVG:

To uninstall AVG (all versions) got to the Control Panel and locate the AVG program.

In Windows 7: Click Start, Control Panel, Programs and Features.

In Windows XP: Click Start, Settings, Control Panel, Add or remove programs.

Click on AVG and Click “Uninstall”.  Then follow the onscreen prompts.

Run the removal tool:

Use AVG Remover to remove any previous version of AVG, or it’s parts.

1. Save all your work and close all documents. Your computer will need to be restarted.
2. Download the AVG Remover tool.
3. Run it and follow the instructions.
4. Restart your computer when prompted.

Re-install AVG:

Run AVG installation using a complete (off-line) installation file:

1. Visit the AVG Downloads page.
2. Click “Download” by the name of your product. choosing 32 bit or 64 bit version.
   Note: If you download an incorrect file, the installation may fail again. You can return to this step and download the correct file at any time.
3. If you are prompted whether you want to Run or Save the file, click Save, or Save as, and select your Desktop as the target folder.
4. Run the downloaded file, and follow the instructions to install AVG.
