Edit your child’s profile (Norton)

Norton Family applies house rules based on the profile that you set up for the child. On the child profile settings page, you can edit device assignments, and change activity notification preferences. You can edit your child’s profile at any time from the Norton website or Norton Family app for parents.

Use Norton website

  1. Sign in to your account.
  2. Select the child profile that you want to manage.
  3. Click View Profile.
  4. To update the display name of the child, click Edit under the child’s profile.
  5. To receive notifications on the Norton Family app for parents, move the On/Off switch next to Parental App Notifications to On and then choose the sort of notifications you want to receive.
  6. To receive notifications via email, move the On/Off switch next to Parental Email Notifications to On and then choose the activities for which you want to receive email.
  7. Under Activity Report Frequency, choose the frequency at which you want to receive the report. You can choose weekly, monthly, or both.
  8. Under Manage Email Recipients, select the email address to which you want the notifications to be sent.

    To add more email address, click Add Email, type the email address, and then click Add. You can Enable or Disable notifications to the email addresses at any time.

    You cannot edit or remove the primary email address. You can add up to five email addresses to which you want to receive notifications.

Use Norton Family parental app for Android

  1. Open Norton Family parental control app in Parent mode.
  2. Tap the child profile that you want to manage.
  3. Tap child profile icon  in the top-right corner of the screen.
  4. In the child profile window, do the following:
    • To change your child’s profile picture, tap Change profile picture to choose an avatar for your child’s profile. You can tap the camera icon to select a picture from your gallery or to take a photo.
    • Tap Name to update your child’s name. By default, house rules are applied based on the restriction level that you choose while adding the child.

Use Norton Family parental app for iOS

  1. Open Norton Family for Parents app.
  2. Tap the child profile that you want to manage and swipe towards left.
  3. Tap Edit Profile.
  4. In the Edit Profile window, do the following:
    • To change your child’s profile picture, tap the current avatar and then choose an avatar or a photo from your gallery. You can also take a photo and set that as the profile picture.
    • Depending on your situation, edit the name or year of birth of your child. By default, house rules are applied based on the child’s age.
  5. Tap Save.
