After you install Norton, you have the option to configure the Norton Password Manager settings. You can import or export your Norton Password Manager vault, configure access to your vault and your browser settings.
Norton Password Manager Export and Import settings
You can export your Password Manager data for security purposes, data recovery, or when you transfer your Password Manager data to a new computer. The backup files are saved as .DAT files.
You can protect the files that you backed up with a password. NortonLifeLock recommends that you use a password to keep your Password Manager data more secure. The backup password does not need to be the same as the password of your Password Manager. You must provide the password when you restore the Password Manager data that you backed up.
You can import your Password Manager data from the file that you previously backed up.
When you enable automatic backup feature, backups of your vault are automatically created and stored locally on your device. You can access your vault backups at Users\<User Name>\My Documents\Norton Password Manager Backups\<Norton account name>.
When you import the Password Manager data you can do the following:
- Merge the imported data in to the vault that you are currently signed in.
- Replace the existing Password Manager data that you stored in your vault that you are signed in with the imported data.
Norton Password Manager Security settings
You can change the password of your Password Manager in the Security tab of the Settings window. You can also use this option to set the level of security that you want for Password Manager password usage.
The following sections let you change the password of your Password Manager and set security levels for your password:

Norton Password Manager Browsing settings
The Browsing tab in the Settings window lets you configure the way you want Password Manager to collect, store, and display the login information for the webpages you visit. You can configure Password Manager to display your cards that you created for the websites that have forms. You can also configure the autofill settings for the websites that contain security threats.
NortonLifeLock recommends you to keep the default settings for logins.
You can configure the following options in the Browsing window:
Login Saving | Lets you configure Norton Password Manager to save and fill your login credentials. Your options are:
Save my credentials when I log in to a website: Lets you save the login credentials for the websites that you visit. Your options are: Always, No, or Ask. Turn off the browser’s password manager: Lets you specify how you want the browser’s password manager to work. Your options are: Yes, No, or Ask. |
Infobar | Lets you configure Norton Password Manager to display the list of identities in the infobar. Your options are:

Filling | Lets you configure Norton Password Manager to fill your identities automatically when you visit a website. Your options are:
Auto-fill my Logins when I visit websites: You can enable the option to automatically fill your login details when you visit a website. Auto-fill on sites containing security threats: Lets you specify how you want Password Manager to respond to the websites that have security threats. Your options are: Yes, No, or Ask. |
