McAfee Mobile Security is being replaced with McAfee Security. When you upgrade to the new McAfee Security app, the features described in this article are removed.

Because the features described below are not available in the new McAfee Security app, this article is not relevant to McAfee Security.

Use the steps shown below to remove McAfee Mobile Security from your mobile device.

NOTE: McAfee Mobile Security can’t be uninstalled, if it came preinstalled on your Android device.

Solution
Device Steps
Android devices If you can see McAfee Mobile Security under the Device Administrator list, remove it from the list before you try to uninstall:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap Location & Security.
  3. Tap Device Administrators.
  4. Deselect McAfee Mobile Security.

You can then use one of these methods to remove McAfee Mobile Security from your Android device. The first option is the recommended option:

  1. Open McAfee Mobile Security.
  2. Tap Menu.
  3. Select Uninstall. If Uninstall is not visible initially, tap More to see the option.

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap Apps or Applications, depending on your device.
  3. Tap Installed Applications/Manage Applications.
  4. Select McAfee Mobile Security.
  5. Tap Options, and then select Uninstall or Remove.
iPhones and iPads
  1. Press and hold the McAfee Mobile Security app until the icons start wiggling.
  2. Tap the minus sign that appears on the top left of the app icon.
  3. Tap Delete to confirm that you want to delete McAfee Mobile Security.
  4. Press the Home button to stop the icons from wiggling. If you have an iPhone without a Home button, tap Done in the top right to stop the icons from wiggling.
