What is the Anti-Theft web interface?
The Remote Management web interface on the avgmobilation.com website provides AVG AntiVirus for Android users with several options for remote control of their missing device by sending specific commands to the device. The following table lists these options:
Option | Description |
---|---|
Select device | In case there are few devices registered using the same Google email account, the dropdown list allows you selecting the device to locate. |
Device Name Edit | Allows giving the device a nickname. |
Shout | Make the device sound an alarm (even if it is in silent mode) to help you locate it. |
Locate | Make the device send its location to the Remote Management web server to help you locate it. |
Lock | Lock the device with a password to protect it against misuse. This option also allows you to edit a lock message that will be displayed on the locked device. Note that this is a one-time action: once the device is unlocked (either remotely or locally), it will be necessary to lock it again if you want it to remain locked. |
Unlock | Unlock the device using the password. The lock screen will no longer be displayed on the device. |
Wipe | Wipe all personal data from the device and format the SD card. This action is irreversible – the wiped data cannot be stored. |
Remove device | Remove the device from the list of devices managed using the Remote Management web interface. |
Anti-Theft password | Allows you to change the password used for sending SMS commands to your lost device. For the change to take place, your mobile device must be connected to the Internet at the time of the change. |
Amazon FirePhone users: Please note that for Anti-Theft only text-message (SMS) commands are supported for the Amazon FirePhone. This phone does not support Anti-Theft commands sent from our website.
