Why are driver updates necessary? (Avira)

Drivers are often designed to be flexible and offer features that third-party software can access. However, although Microsoft issues drivers with digital signatures, they are not necessarily secure.

Hackers like to use the vulnerabilities in drivers to gain unauthorized access to other systems. The only effective protection is to install the latest drivers in which the security leak has already been closed.

Update your drivers

1. Click the Avira icon in the system tray to open the Avira user interface.
2. Click Performance in the left menu.
3. Click the Driver updater function.
4. Once the scan is complete, all outdated drivers are listed.
   Click Update to update the drivers.
