Before you install Bitdefender on Windows, it is best to check if your device meets the system requirements. If the computer does not meet all the system requirements, Bitdefender will not be installed or, if installed, it will not work properly, and will cause system slowdowns and instability.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
You may install Bitdefender only on computers running the following operating systems:
Operating System: Windows 7 with Service Pack 1, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10
Memory (RAM): 2 GB
Free hard disk space: 2.5 GB free space (at least 800 MB on the system drive)
*System performance may be affected on devices that have old generation CPUs
SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS
To be able to use Bitdefender and all its features, your computer needs to meet the following software requirements:

CHECKING IF THE PC MEETS SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
To find out the Windows operating system your computer is running and hardware information, follow these steps:
For Windows 10 »
1. Go to your desktop and right-click on This PC. If you don’t have the This PC icon on your desktop, you can also click the Windows Start menu in the lower-left corner, type This PC, and right-click on it.
2. Select Properties.
3. In this window you will be able to see which Windows edition is currently installed on your PC. Make sure it is one of the versions supported by Bitdefender: Microsoft Windows 7 (SP1), Microsoft Windows 8, Microsoft Windows 8.1, or Microsoft Windows 10.
4. Next, check if you have enough memory installed to run Bitdefender. This is displayed next to Installed memory (RAM). Bitdefender requires at least 2 GB RAM to run properly.
For Windows 8.1 »
1. Hold down simultaneously the Windows key and the X key on your keyboard, then click System Information in the menu that appears.
2. Here you will be able to see all the necessary information.
3. The name of the operating system appears in the Windows edition section.
4. Next, check if you have enough memory installed to run Bitdefender. This is displayed next to Installed memory (RAM). Bitdefender requires at least 2 GB RAM to run properly.
For Windows 7 »
1. Click the Windows Start button in the lower-left corner of the screen.
2. Type system, then click on System Information in the menu that appears.
3. Here you will be able to see all the necessary information.
4. The name of the operating system and the Service Pack appear in the Windows edition section. Service Pack 1 is required for Windows 7 computers.
5. Next, check if you have enough memory installed to run Bitdefender. This is displayed next to Installed memory (RAM). Bitdefender requires at least 2 GB RAM to run properly.
If your system meets all the requirements, you can proceed with the installation.
