You can help us to improve the protection by contributing suspicious applications and websites for analysis.
When the product blocks an application, for example because it is a possible security risk for your computer or the application tried to do something possibly harmful, you can send us a sample of the application for security research purposes. You can do this if you know that the application that the product blocked incorrectly is safe or if you suspect that the application may be harmful.
Also, if you suspect that a website is unsafe, you can send us its URL for analysis.
To submit a sample for analysis:
-
- Open F-Secure SAFE from the Windows Start menu.
- On the main view, select Viruses and Threats.
- Select Submit a sample.
This opens the Submit a sample web page in your default web browser where you can submit either a file or a URL sample for analysis.
- Fill in the form on the web page to submit your sample.
If you think that a file has been mistakenly quarantined as a false positive, you can send the single file for analysis by using the report feature in the product:
- While on the Viruses and Threats view, select App and file control. The App and file control dialog opens. The Quarantined tab lists all the items that the product has quarantined.
- Select the item that you want to submit for analysis and select Report… A confirmation dialog opens.
- Select Report.
The result of the submission is shown.
Note: If you restore an item that the product has quarantined, you have to restart your computer.
