Issue
By default, your ESET Windows home product will automatically attempt to download detection engine/module updates several times per day. If you use a dial-up internet connection, you may receive continuous error messages regarding failed detection engine/module updates. Your computer may also automatically attempt to connect to the internet. To prevent this, disable the regular automatic update task using the scheduler feature.
Solution
To configure your ESET product to download the latest detection engine/modules updates only when a dial-up connection has been established:
- Open the main program window of your Windows ESET product.
- Click Tools → More tools.
- Click Scheduler.
- Deselect the check box next to Regular automatic update. This will force your ESET product to download detection engine/module updates only when a dial-up connection has been established.
