Password protection

By default, the Parental Control password you choose to protect your Parental Control settings will also be the program settings password in your ESET product.

If you do not use Parental Control, configure a settings password without enabling Parental Control.

Before configuring ESET Parental Control

Windows user accounts must be available for each person accessing the computer. Without completing this important step, Parental Control is ineffective in shielding children from inappropriate web content.

  1. Set up Windows user accounts for each person accessing the computer. For information on setting up Windows user accounts, click the appropriate link below:
  2. Open the main program window of your ESET Windows product.
  3. Click Setup → Security tools.

  1. Verify Parental control is enabled and click the arrow next to Parental Control.

  1. Click Protect all settings with a password. Type your password into the New password and Confirm password fields and then click OK.

You will now be prompted for a password when you attempt to access password-protected features or settings in the user interface.
