It’s expected for your connection to be slower with VPN. The data needs to be encrypted and then sent to another server before it reaches your Internet Service Provider, whereas otherwise it would reach the Internet Service Provider immediately.

There are a few things to try, if you want to find out whether the slowness is “normal”:

1. Try connecting to another country.
2. Try to disable your BullGuard Antivirus and Firewall, one at a time (remember to re-enable them when you have completed the test).
3. Reset your router.
4. Restart your computer.

If all of the above fail, the issue may be with your internet service provider, who may be slowing down traffic for a while, due to high demand from customers.
