Creating a recovery code for the master password (F-Secure IOS)

This topic explains how to create a recovery code for your F-Secure ID PROTECTION master password.

Important: We strongly recommend that you also create a recovery code for the master password as soon as you have taken F-Secure ID PROTECTION into use. It is the only way for you to regain your master password if you forget it.

To create your master password recovery code:

    1. Open F-Secure ID PROTECTION.
    2. Go to Menu > Settings.
    3. Select Create Recovery Code, and do one of the following:
      • If you have fingerprint recognition in use, use your fingerprint to confirm that you want to create a recovery code.
      • Enter your master password and select Confirm to create a recovery code.

The recovery code image is automatically created.

    1. Select Save as image.

The code is saved to the default location on your device. This is usually the Photos or Gallery folder.

  1. Go to the folder, select the image, and send it to a service where you can print it out from.

Note: We recommend that you save the code as an image and print the file out for safekeeping, rather than store it in a cloud storage service.
