The browsing protection requires browser extensions to work.
In addition, browser extensions give you security information of potentially harmful websites and shows you the safety rating icons on search results.
If the product shows you a warning that the browser extension is not installed or is turned off:
- Open your default web browser.

- If you use Firefox or Chrome, the browser notifies you that a new extension has been installed after you have installed the product. Click the notification and then the extension message to turn on the browser extension.
- If you use Safari, the product displays a notification if the browser extension is not turned on. Click the notification to view Safari extension preferences and to turn on the browser extension.
Note: If Safari is running when you install or upgrade the product, you may need to restart it for the extension to work. -
- If the browsing protection extension is not listed in your browser, reinstall the extension manually.
- On the Preferences page of the product, open the Secure Browsing tab.
- Select Install browser extension
To test that the browser extension is working, open the following test page in your browser: https://unsafe.fstestdomain.com. You should see the product block page.
