Solution

Export data from version 2.x to version 3.x

  1. Open the ESET Password Manager browser extension.
  2. Click Open application.

  3. On ESET Password Manager Home screen, click Export and Export database window will appear. Click Export all.

  4. Select ESET Password Manager XML and click Next (in ESET Password Manager version 3 and later, the .spdb format is no longer supported).

  5. Select the destination folder where you want to export your data. Click Save.

  6. Finish exporting your data by clicking Close.

Export data from version 3.x

  1. Open the ESET Password Manager browser extension, click the menu icon and then click Settings.

  2. Scroll down to the Data section and click Export data.

  3. Select an export option. If you select Password-protected file, you will need to enter a password. Click Export data.
Export options

Select Password-protected file to create encrypted backups of your password manager database in .json format. Select CSV to create unencrypted files in .csv format. Please note that the CSV format is not encrypted and we do not recommend that you use them for passwords or personal data.

  1. Type your Master Password and click Continue.
