The email protection service is installed on server systems, but cannot be used due to email protection checking for SMTP. Server to server connections also checks for SMTP.

Email protection would therefore also check server to server connections, causing problems. For this reason, email protection cannot be used on server systems.

To prevent false messages in administration consoles or avoid that the product is displayed inactive on local machines, set the service to “manual in the Windows service settings.

To do this, the product protection must first be deactivated in the product configuration interface.
Go to Configuration → General → Security → Remove check mark next to “Protect processes from unwanted termination”.

Once you have changed the service, turn on product protection again.
