Instructions on how to install the sensor client on Linux.
The installation process consists of two steps: installing the product and activating it.
The product is distributed in three different installation package formats. Choose the correct package format based on the Linux distribution.
- DEB packages are compatible with Debian and Ubuntu systems.
- RPM packages are compatible with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, Oracle Linux, Amazon Linux, and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server systems.
- You can use the F-Secure installer to automatically install and activate the product on any supported system.

- Install the product on each host:
- Run the installation command:
- On RPM-based distributions: rpm -Uvh f-secure-linuxsecurity.rpm
- On DEB-based distributions: dpkg -i f-secure-linuxsecurity.deb
- Using the F-Secure installer: ./f-secure-linuxsecurity-installer –subscription-key SUBSCRIPTION-KEY
Note: When using the F-Secure installer, you can also provide the subscription key by renaming the installation package, for example f-secure-linuxsecurity-installer-[SUBSCRIPTION-KEY] (with the [] brackets around the actual subscription key). With the renamed installation package, you can run the installation package without any additional command-line arguments.
- Run the installation command:
- Run the following command to activate the product:
Note: This step is not needed when you use the F-Secure installer.
- Install the product on each host:
/opt/f-secure/linuxsecurity/bin/activate –psb –subscription-key SUBSCRIPTION-KEY
