You have received the error message “…administration rights required…” because your computer’s user account does not have sufficient rights to install new software.

You will need to either log off and log on as the Administrator or set your current rights with Administrator privileges to allow the installation routine to run correctly. Most home computers’ default settings will automatically have administrative rights and you should not experience any problems.

To check if you are logged in as a user with administrative rights, please follow the steps below:

  1. Click the Windows Start menu icon and enter “Control Panel” using your keyboard, then hit the Enter key.
  2. Open User Accounts.
  3. Click Manage another account.

All users accounts will be listed on the page. Each account has an assigned status (Administrator, Standard User, etc.). Before installing or reinstalling the software or prior to proceeding with any action that requires administrative access, please make sure that you are logged in to Windows under an account with the status “Administrator”.

If you are unsure which account you are logged in with, please open the main User Accounts page. The current user is displayed on the right of the page.
