If the Anti-Theft service is enabled on your Android phone and you change your SIM card, the phone will be locked. To unlock the phone please enter the PIN that you have set up when enabling the Anti-Theft service.

In the event that your phone is locked and you do not remember your PIN, please review the following steps below:

Using the previous SIM card

You may be able to unlock the phone by entering the previous SIM card:

  • Please start the phone with the previous SIM card.
  • Disable the SIM lock feature in AVG AntiVirus under Anti-Theft settings.
  • Insert the new SIM card.

Via the “Forgot PIN” link

Note: Before going through the steps below, ensure that the phone can connect to the Internet. You can do this by either being in range of a known Wi-Fi network that you connected to previously, or by inserting a sim card with data capability. If the phone can not be connected to the Internet, the recommended solution is a factory reset. If you need assistance with performing a factory reset on your mobile phone, please contact the manufacturer.

  • On the lock screen, click on Forgot PIN.
  • An email will be sent to the email address registered with your AVG MyAccount.
  • Open the email and click on the PIN reset link.
  • A new website will open where you can reset your PIN.
  • Use the new PIN to unlock your phone.
