You can try the following steps to resolve scan node issues:

  • Ensure that the scan node Windows service is running.
  • Open Radar Scan Node – Control Center and check if the scan node is active and that scanning engines were downloaded (revision is greater then 0).
  • Review the scan node log files (C:\Program Files (x86)\F-Secure\RadarScanAgent\logs).
  • Perform a connection test. Run the following command as the same user that runs the service: C:\Program Files (x86)\F-Secure\RadarScanAgent>FSRadarAgent.exe -test.
  • Run the scan node agent in debug mode:
    • Via the command line with the following command: FSRadarAgent.exe -c -vv. For example: C:\Program Files (x86)\F-Secure\RadarScanAgent>FSRadarAgent.exe -c -vv.

Note: Remember to run the command line as the user running the “F-Secure Radar Agent” service.

    • Alternatively, as a service. To do this, add the
-vv argument to the service startup command. The service startup parameters can be modified in the system registry.

Note: Editing the system registry is a very sensitive operation. Proceed with caution if you use this approach.

  • Check Windows Event Viewer for possible errors.
  • If none of these steps has helped, contact Elements Vulnerability Management support. When sending your support request, please describe your problem in detail and always attach log files (at least the one from the date when the issue occurred).
