You can set Norton to run background tasks from between 1 minute to 30 minutes after your computer is idle.

Specify Idle Time Out duration

  1. Start Norton.

If you see the My Norton window, next to Device Security, click Open.

  2. In the Norton main window, click Settings.
  3. In the Settings window, click Administrative Settings.
  4. In the Idle Time Out row, in the drop-down list, select the duration that you want to specify.

You might need to scroll the window to view the option.

  5. In the Settings window, click Apply.
