MacOS users may receive a calendar / contacts permission request at the time of installing Sophos Home, if they have setup their contacts and calendar on their macs.
This behavior occurs due to the way that Apple Gatekeeper (Click here for more information) works; the Sophos Installer is required to search for the accompanying installation files on the system at the time of install, which causes the pop up to trigger when the search runs on certain directories. Sophos Home does not use any calendar or contacts information.
Instructions
If the installer was downloaded directly from the Sophos Home dashboard or the sophos home website, it is safe to proceed with the installation by clicking “Don’t Allow” when presented with the popup.
Note: Users may also find the alert by clicking on the Apple icon –> System Preferences –> Security & Privacy and clicking on “Calendars”.
