  • You want to block the majority of websites and domains, only allowing access to the ones you specify
  • You want to block access to a specific website or domain

Solution

Block a specific website

You can also block access to all websites except those you specify.

  1. Open the main program window of your ESET Windows product.
  2. Press the F5 key on your keyboard to access Advanced setup.
  3. Click Web and Email → Web access protection and expand URL Address Management. Click Edit next to Address list.

  1. Select List of blocked addresses and click Edit.

  1. Click Add, type the web addresses of the sites that you want to block and then click OK. Click OK in open windows to close them and exit Advanced setup.

Wildcards and other recommendations
  • The wildcards * and ? may be used. For example, if you wanted to block all addresses from nk01.sample.com to nk98.sample.net, you would enter: nk??.sample.*

Block all websites except those you specify

  1. Follow the instructions in the section above to add a wildcard (*) to the list of blocked addresses.
  2. Select the List of allowed addresses and follow the instructions from steps 4-5 above to add the URLs for websites you want to allow.
