How to get trace files

  1. Click the Settings icon in the lower-left corner of the Kaspersky Small Office Security main window.
  2. Click Support Tools.
  3. If the Technical Support specialist hasn’t specified otherwise, switch the Enable application traces toggle to the “on” position and click Save.
  4. Restart the computer.
Restarting is mandatory, unless a Technical Support specialist stated otherwise.
  1. Reproduce the problem.
  2. Switch the Enable application traces toggle to the “off” position and click Save.

Trace files have been created.

 

How to locate the trace files

The application saves trace files with unique names, in the LOG format: [Shortened application name].[Application version]_[Date of creation]_[Time of creation]_[Random characters].[Tracing type].[Encryption type]

Example: KAV.21.2.16.590_11.05_10.43_1168.SRV.log

To locate the trace files:

  1. Enable the Show hidden files and folders function. See this article for instructions.
  2. Press Win+E combination on your keyboard.
  3. In the Address Bar of the Windows Explorer, type the following: %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Kaspersky Lab\AVP21.2\Traces
  4. Press Enter.

The Traces folder containing the trace files will open.

Trace files are stored on your computer for seven days after disabling the tracing. Then they are permanently deleted.

 

How to send a report to Technical Support

  1. Click the Settings icon in the lower-left corner of the Kaspersky Small Office Security main window.
  2. Click Support Tools.
  3. Click Send report to Technical Support.
  4. Select the Operating system information and Data received for analysis checkboxes.
  5. Enter the request number that was assigned to you when creating the request and click Send report.
  6. Wait until the report is uploaded to the server.

The report with trace files will be sent.

If you cannot send the report right now (for instance, you have no Internet connection), save it to your computer by clicking Save report on your computer. You can contact Kaspersky technical support by choosing the topic and filling out the form.
