Kaspersky Update Utility 3.0 features the functionality of creating detailed logs (trace files) of the utility work. A trace file is required for troubleshooting the issues that may occur when using the utility (when downloading updates or modules).

To generate a trace file, do the following:

Via the graphic interface:

  1. Run UpdateUtility-Gui.
  2. In the main application window, click Settings.
  3. In the General section, select the check box Enable trace.
  4. Click OK.

The trace.log file will be created in the utility folder.

Via the command line:

In the command line, run the UpdateUtility-Console file with the -t key.

For example: ./UpdateUtility-Console -u -t.

The trace.log file will be created in the utility folder.
