McAfee Refund Policy
This article only applies to UK customers.

If you are not satisfied with your product for any reason, McAfee offers a full money back guarantee to eligible customers who request a refund during the cancellation window (see below).

In addition, customers whose product has automatically renewed might be entitled to a pro-rata refund even outside the cancellation window.

This policy explains how the money back guarantee and pro-rata refunds work and how you can request a refund.

If you receive a refund for your purchase, you must uninstall the software in accordance with your license agreement. Also, and at the sole discretion of McAfee, your license might be disabled to prevent further use.

To request a refund, go to McAfee Customer Service and follow the prompts. You can also initiate a refund request from WebChat available on McAfee Customer Service. You should also contact McAfee Customer Service if you purchased your product from a retail store.

McAfee Money Back Guarantee
This guarantee is available on most McAfee-branded consumer products. Eligibility for a refund depends on several factors including, but not limited to:

  • Type of product
  • Subscription term
  • Duration since purchase
  • Where the product was purchased

As explained below, to be eligible for the money back guarantee, you need to request a refund within the cancellation window and otherwise be eligible for it.

Here are the answers to some of the common questions that you might have about the McAfee Refund Policy:

  • What is not refundable
    Shipping, handling, and any applicable tax are not refundable, except in certain states and countries where these items are refundable.
  • Who is eligible
    Annual subscribers to a McAfee Consumer or Small Business Security product who make a request:

    • Within 30 days of a product purchase
    • If their annual subscription has been automatically renewed, within 60 days of being charged
If the purchase falls outside these time frames, you are not entitled to a full refund under the money back guarantee, but you might be entitled to a pro-rata refund (see below).
  • Who is not eligible
    The 30-day money back guarantee is not available for monthly subscribers. Individual users who cancel their monthly membership will no longer be charged in the next month of their subscription.
  • How to request a refund under the money back guarantee
    Individual users who have acquired the products or services covered under this program for through McAfee Customer Service.
  • Charging anomalies
    If you think you have been charged incorrectly or you have another anomaly that you think requires a refund, contact Customer Service. (For example, if your credit card bill shows that you have been charged twice.)
  • Pro-rata refundsIf your annual subscription has been automatically renewed, you can request a pro-rata (partial) refund if your request is made outside 60 days of being charged (calculated on a monthly basis). This does not apply in the final month of your annual subscription.
    • Who is eligible
      UK customers with an annual subscription to a McAfee Consumer or Small Business Security product whose product has automatically renewed, and who request a refund more than 60 days after being charged.UK customers who make a request for a refund within 60 days of being charged might be entitled to a full refund under the money back guarantee (see above).
    • Who is not eligible
      Customers from outside the UK.

      Monthly subscribers (as above).

    • How we calculate the pro-rata refund
      The pro-rata refund is calculated by dividing the total annual subscription fee that you paid by 12 and multiplying the result with the number of full months left on your subscription at the date at which you requested your refund.No refund is available in the final month of a renewed annual subscription.
    • How to request a pro-rata refund
      You can request a refund through McAfee Customer Service.

Software removal
In accordance with the license agreement, after you receive your refund you must uninstall the software and delete all program files for the product that you return. This applies to all devices on which you have installed the software.
