Internet connectivity problem may occur due to various reasons. It can happen due to a temporary problem from your service provider or a problem in your computer that is caused by the firewall. To fix this problem, we need to identify the exact cause.

If you cannot access a specific website but can access other websites, read Fix problems accessing a specific website.

Temporarily turn off your firewall and check the connectivity

  1. Start Norton.

    If you see the My Norton window, next to Device Security, click Open.

  2. Click Settings.
  3. In the Settings window, click Firewall.
  4. On the General Settings tab, next to Smart Firewall, click the slider to turn it Off.
  5. In the Protection Alert dialog box, from the drop-down menu, click Apply, and then select Permanently.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Check if you can connect to the Internet by accessing www.nortonlifelock.com.
  8. Repeat steps 1 to 4 and turn on Smart Firewall.

    Make sure that you turn on Smart Firewall before you follow the next steps.

Depending on whether you can access the NortonLifeLock website after you turned off the firewall, select one of the following:

I can access the NortonLifeLock website only after I disable the firewall

I cannot access the NortonLifeLock website even after I disable the firewall

Some applications or browsers cannot access the Internet
