IMPORTANT: Because these features are being removed, you must take the following action to avoid the risk of data loss:
- Download (export) your backed-up data from your McAfee Account to a secure location (such as your PC or Mac).
See TS103165 – Changes to McAfee Mobile Security (July – September 2021) for the dates that you need to take action by. Your backed-up data is at risk if you do not take action by the dates shown in the article.
Don’t worry, you can continue using McAfee Mobile Security even after the features shown are been removed.

There are two main ways that your can download (export) your data onto your Mac, or PC:
- You can download your backed-up contact data and media from the McAfee Mobile Security web portal.
- If you normally access the McAfee Mobile Security web portal through your carrier’s website, you must log into ‘McAfee My Account’ from your carrier’s website to download your data.
Click one of the options below to learn how to download your data either directly from McAfee, or through your carrier:
Download your data directly from McAfee:
- Go to the McAfee Mobile Security web portal: mcafeemobilesecurity.com.
- Click Log in.
- Log in with the email address and password that you wp-signup.phped with McAfee.
- If prompted, select the mobile device that you want to export from, and tap Go.
- Type your PIN, and click OK to log in.
- Click the stacked menu (hamburger) icon on the top-left, then click My Data:
- Your Contacts are selected by default. Click Export all:
Your contact data is downloaded in a compressed (.zip) file, containing your contact data saved as .VCF (Virtual Card Format) files. VCF is a common format used for storing contact information. VCF files can be imported into many popular apps that use contact information.
NOTE: If you want to export contacts from another device, repeat the above steps, selecting the device that you want to export from.
- Go to the McAfee Mobile Security web portal: mcafeemobilesecurity.com.
- Click Log in.
- Log in with the email address and password that you wp-signup.phped with McAfee.
- If prompted, select the mobile device that you want to export from, and tap Go.
- Type your PIN, and click OK to log in.

- Under My Data, select Media.
- Click the media files that you want to download, then click Download.
Download your data through your carrier:
- Go to your carrier’s website.
- Sign in with the email address and password that you wp-signup.phped with your carrier.
- Go to the McAfee Security section. You are automatically logged in.
- Click Downloads & devices:
- If prompted, select the mobile device that you want to export from.
- Type your PIN, click OK, then click View Backup Data.
- Click the stacked menu (hamburger) icon on the top-left, then click My Data:
- Your Contacts are selected by default. Click Export all:

NOTE: After downloading your contact data, you can import it into another app that uses contact data.
What happens if I do not download my data before the relevant dates?
Any backed-up data that has not been downloaded before the dates shown in TS103165 – Changes to McAfee Mobile Security (July – September 2021) is lost when you update to the latest version of MMS. We urge you to download your data as soon as possible to avoid the possibility of data loss.
What are my options if I want to maintain a backup of my contacts or media files in the future?
Use the backup options provided by your Android or iOS device.
