You are unable to redeem and activate your McAfee products using a retail card or an eCard. Similarly, you are unable to activate your product when you install from a CD.

When you try to install from a CD or redeem a retail card, you see an issue or error. This error stops your product from being activated.

NOTE: You must always activate your McAfee product at: https://www.mcafee.com/activate.

Click the issue or error that you see when you are unable to activate your McAfee product:

To select your country and language, use the language drop-down list on the Activation website. These details must match the details of the retail card that you purchased.

NOTE: If you do not see the option to select a country or language, contact Customer Support.

You might have typed the product key incorrectly.

Try to type the key again. If you still see the Invalid Product Code error, contact Customer Support.

This issue occurs when the store where you bought your retail card did not correctly activate the card. You must return to the store and have them activate the card for you.

  1. Put the CD in your drive. The installation begins automatically.
  2. Follow the on-screen prompts to install your McAfee product.
  3. Right-click the McAfee icon on your taskbar and select Activate now.
  4. Type the CD Key and select Activate.

    An Activation Successful message is shown.

If you still see an error, or you are unable to activate contact Customer Support.
