One of the most important ways to prevent computer security breaches is the use of a strong password. Weak passwords can be guessed, or cracked, within seconds, using the modern computing power available in a simple laptop.
The Password Generator in Norton Password Manager lets you create highly secure passwords that are difficult to crack or guess. Whenever you create a new login, you can use the Password Generator to create strong passwords.
To create a strong password using Password Generator, select one of the following:
I have Norton browser extension on Windows or Mac computer
- Open your browser.
- Click on the top-right corner of the browser.
- Do one of the following:
- If you have not signed in to your Norton account, click
- If you have signed in to your Norton account, in the Your vault is locked screen, click .
- In the pop-up that appears, click .
- In the Unlock your vault window, type your vault password and click .
- In the Norton Password Manager window, click
and then click .
A strong password of 20 digits by default is shown on top of the Password Manager window.
- Click or to copy or regenerate the displayed password and click .
You can alter the password by checking one or more of the check boxes that are shown below. You can also change the length of the password by dragging the slide header.
You can also generate a strong password by using the Password Generator available in this website.
I have Norton Password Manager app on Android or iOS device
- Sign in to your Norton Password Manager app.
- In the Vault screen, under More Features, tap
- In the Generate screen, tap .
A strong password is generated and is shown on top of the Password Manager screen.
- Click to copy the displayed password.
You can alter the password by checking one or more of the check boxes that are shown below. You can also change the length of the password by dragging the slide header.
