Certain functionality of Malwarebytes may be performed via command-line to facilitate custom scripting or automation. The Endpoint Agent Command-line tool, or EACmd, is a program developed to communicate with the Endpoint Agent service. It uses the same communication method as the Endpoint Agent Tray program.

EACmd is located on each Windows endpoint at the following location:

C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Endpoint Agent\UserAgent\EACmd.exe

Check for Protection Updates via command-line (Windows)

This command performs an immediate check for Protection Updates. It has identical functionality to performing a Protection Updates check from the Manage Endpoints screen in the Nebula console.

While scans perform this check before an actual scan, a check for Protection Updates also ensures that Real-Time Protection uses the most recent updates.

Syntax

C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Endpoint Agent\UserAgent\EACmd.exe -updateprotection

Check for Software Updates via command-line (Windows)

This command performs an immediate check for updates to the Malwarebytes software on the endpoint. It has identical functionality to performing a Software Updates check from the Manage Endpoints screen in the Nebula console.

Any manual check for Software Updates overrides the Pause Software Updates policy setting.

Syntax

C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Endpoint Agent\UserAgent\EACmd.exe -updatesoftware
