In Elements Vulnerability Management, all system scan and web scan targets are stored in logical containers called scan groups.

To view or edit a scan group:

    1. On the Network scans page, click Group view.
    2. Click the menu button for the group that you want to edit.
    3. Select Edit scan group.
    4. In Group name, enter the name of scan group.
    5. In Responsible, set the Elements Vulnerability Management user who is responsible for the group
    6. In Description, edit the group description.
    7. Click Next.
    8. Turn System scans on or off.

If System scans is on:

    1. Select the scan template to use for all assets within the group.
    2. Select the scan node to use.
    3. Set the maximum number of concurrent system scans that can be running at the same time within the group.
    4. Turn on Asset update sources and then click Add asset update source if you want to synchronize the scan targets with the results of a discovery scan or Internet discovery search.

You also need to select the type of Source, the Source instanceTrigger, and Actions for the asset update. You must have at least one discovery scan already defined to select Discovery scan as a source. You can create a new discovery scan on the Discovery scans page.

  1. Turn on Scan schedule to set the schedule for system scans.
    1. Click Next.
    2. Turn Web scans on or off.

If Web scans is on:

    1. Select the scan template to use for all assets within the group.
    2. Select the scan node to use.
    3. Set the maximum number of concurrent system scans that can be running at the same time within the group.
    4. Turn on Asset update sources and then click Add asset update source if you want to synchronize the scan targets with the results of a discovery scan or Internet discovery search.

You also need to select the type of Source, the Source instanceTrigger, and Actions for the asset update. You must have at least one discovery scan already defined to select Discovery scan as a source. You can create a new discovery scan on the Discovery scans page.

  1. Turn on Scan schedule to set the schedule for web scans.
  1. Click Next.
  2. Set the default tags that you want to show for scans that are added to this group.
  3. Click Next.
  4. Set the notification rules for the scan group.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Check the details for the scan group on the Summary page, then click Finish to save the changes.
