The Self-Defense component prevents Kaspersky Small Office Security from being blocked or removed by other applications. Self-Defense is enabled by default, but it may sometimes be necessary to disable it in order to troubleshoot issues with Kaspersky Small Office Security.

Disabling Self-Defense prevents some features of Kaspersky Small Office Security from working properly and lowers the overall level of system protection.

To enable or disable Self-Defense:

  1. Click the settings icon in the lower-left corner of the Kaspersky Small Office Security main window. To learn how to open the main application window, see this article.
  2. Select Additional → Self-Defense.
  3. Select or clear the Enable Self-Defense checkbox.
  4. Click Continue.

Self-Defense in Kaspersky Small Office Security will be enabled or disabled.

What to do if you cannot enable or disable Self-Defense

If you experience any difficulties enabling or disabling Self-Defense in Kaspersky Small Office Security, submit a request to Kaspersky Lab technical support via the Kaspersky Small Office Security Management Console. Please describe the issue in detail.

The instructions on using the Kaspersky Small Office Security Management Console, see the Online Help page.
